Join us on Thursday, October 17th for the last monthly membership meeting of 2024, as we welcome the president and CEO of the Associated Luxury Hotels International Michael Dominguez.  Michael is actively involved in leadership roles in the Meeting and Events Industry, including the executive committees for the US Travel Association and Meetings Mean Business Coalitions.  He speaks in the industry often on topics of disruption, the state of the industry, the economy, and behavioral lessons.

ALHI is a Global Sales Organization with a team of nearly 80 professionals located among 26 offices across North America and Europe, ALHI’s serves a membership group of hotels that are Independent Hotels and independent Brands that are an exclusive luxury collection. Prior to joining ALHI, Michael served in executive sales leadership roles with MGM Resorts, Loews Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Starwood Hotels, and many more.

With a combined 50 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, the McCaslins have provided market and financial services for all types of hotel projects. Their expertise includes conducting market studies for hotels, resorts, convention centers, and unique hospitality projects. Additionally, they provide asset management services to maximize profitability for hotel owners and advocate for hotel operators.

The McCaslins are very active with the University of Houston Hilton College. Randy is an Adjunct Faculty member and Dean’s Advisory Board member, and Patrick is Vice President of the Alumni Board.

2024 State of Security – Public Safety Initiative

The Houston Lodging Association of Greater Houston (HLAGH) invites you to the 2024 State of Security meeting on Wednesday, July 17th. This event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers from the Houston Police Department, who are highly trained and qualified to address the key security issues affecting our industry

The agenda includes:

  • Sergeant Tracy Hicks from the Auto Theft Crime Task Force will discuss the recent surge in hotel and auto thefts and outline the new measures being adopted to reduce burglaries and break-ins.
  • Officer Loc Tram from Community Affairs will share insights on crisis intervention and recovery, discussing effective strategies for crisis response and the latest public safety initiatives.
  • Jaime Giraldo, Director of Public Safety with the Midtown Management District, will provide guidance on managing the presence of homeless individuals in hotels and restaurants.

Your presence is vital as we engage in this important issue, the safety of our hotel guests, their families, and our employees. We look forward to your participation.
